Pre-Admission

At Texas Surgical Hospital, we want you to feel fully prepared and informed before your upcoming surgery. That’s why we encourage you to schedule your Pre-Admission Testing 2-10 days before your surgery date.

Your physician will determine which specific tests are needed based on your medical condition, age, and the procedure you’ll be having. These tests usually include a blood, urine, EKG, and/or chest X-ray.

During the appointment, we’ll also take care of your pre-registration for surgery and provide you with educational information about what to expect during your procedure and recovery. The appointment will typically take between 45 minutes to an hour.

To ensure your Pre-Admission Testing is as efficient as possible, please bring your insurance information, including your card and valid identification.

You should also be prepared to pay any co-pays or deductibles during testing. If you’ve had recent lab and/or X-ray results from another facility, please also bring these along.

Lastly, you must provide us with a complete list of all medications and supplements you’re currently taking, including the name, strength, frequency, and reason for each medication. This will help us ensure you receive the best possible care and treatment during your stay at Texas Surgical Hospital.
